S&P Brake Supply has been a long-standing business in Montana since 1959, founded by Ken Slatter and Jerry Powell. With over 100 years of combined experience in brake types, custom relining, brake operation, and service work, this family-owned business has thrived for decades. Joe Hoppman owned the company for 29 years before passing it on to his son, who is to continuing the family legacy alongside his own son. While S&P Brake Supply started with brakes, it has since expanded its offerings to include aftermarket parts, OEM parts, driveline repair, wheels, tire chains, air valves, brake drums, air disc brakes, rotors, calipers, suspension parts, air springs, leaf springs, king pins, drag links, tie rod ends, bushing kits for walking beams, brake camshaft, langing gears, trailer repair parts, panels, lighting, air line, obsolecent parts, and custom relining of brake parts, and more.

Matt has been dealing with brakes since he started back in 1991 with S&P Brake. Matt purchased S&P Brake from his father in January of 2020. Matt's involvement in the brake industry has 35 plus years of product knowledge and support. Matt started working in the remanucaturing side of brake shoes when he was just 14 years old. Worked his way up through the reman shops remanufacturing brake shoes, brake bands, brake pads, brake boosters, air valves, air cylinders, hydrauclic calipers, master cylinders, wheel cyclinders, and many other brake items over those 10 years. He then went on to hold multiple certifications working in our truck and trailer service departments. Matt holds certifications from Bendix, Haldex, SAF Holland, Detroit Diesel, Mercedees Benz, Daimler Trucks, Western Star Trucks, Freightliner Trucks, Great Dane Trailers, Sealco, Meritor, and Euclid. Since 2010 Matt took over running the facilities as the VP of Operations until he purchased the company in January of 2020.

Maverick Hoppman
VP Operations
Maverick has been working with his father Matt at the company since 2019. Maverick has worked from the ground up. Working in the back shop sweeping floors, organizing warehouse and pulling parts, relining brake shoes, parts sales, and truck and trailer service department sales.. Maverick has been certified in Bendix, Haldex, and HDATP schools to add to his experience to help run the family business.
